The Gunnery needed a new identity and logo for their new business division – Kalibre 7. The challenge was to build a new and distinctive brand identity that not only fitted with the Gunnery master brand, but also convey a sense of dynamism, creativity and forward thinking mindset of the new brand.
The rounded logo was designed to reflect the circular configuration – the calibre (diameter) of a bullet and it embodies the four geometric blocks of audio engineering – recording, manipulation, mixing and reproduction. The dominant typographic 7 and the subtle K emerge from the rhythmic flow, created by the design process. Black was chosen as a timeless colour and to carry on the legacy of The Gunnery master brand. The use of condensed sans serif font helps to convey modern progress.
